About our Doctor

Joanna Miranda has been practicing all over the greater Atlanta area for the past 8 years. She is elated to now dedicate herself full time inside Town Brookhaven's Costo, the longest place she has been providing eye care for. While she spent a short time of her childhood in Dunwoody, she grew up mostly in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She obtained her professional degree from Southern College of Optometry where she completed training in optical, ocular disease, low vision, vision therapy, adult care, pediatrics, and contact lenses. Further training in ocular disease and surgical co-management was completed at Woolfson Eye Institute, and training in personalized comprehensive eye care was acheived at Coastal Vision Center in Florida. 

Dr. Miranda enjoys seeing her patients at their annual comprehensive eye exams not only to update glasses and contact lenses, but to celebrate the joys and sympathize in the  shortcomings from the patient's past year. She also enjoys learning about their jobs as it relates to their eyes so that she can personalize their prescription and offer recommendations to make work or school easier for them. She particularly loves myopia management as she wishes her parents knew about it so she did not have to endure wearing heavy glasses from her strong prescription growing up. Multifocal contact lens fittings are another favorite of hers as she loves seeing the shock of presbyopic patients when they realize they can drive and read up close again without any glasses at all! 

Her spare time is spent chasing after a toddler and pre-schooler with her husband and baking anything with chocolate.
