About Our Doctor

Joanna Miranda has been practicing all over the Atlanta area (and inside Town Brookhaven's Costco) for the past 8 years. She is excited to dedicate herself full time as the main doctor at the longest place she has been caring for patients. While she spent some of her childhood in Dunwoody, GA, the majority was spent in Charlotte, NC. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her doctorate degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Her optometric training in Memphis as well as at Atlanta's Woolfson Eye Institute and Coastal Vision Center in Florida provided her experience in adult primary care, pediatric care, geriatric care, contact lenses--soft and premium, vision therapy, low vision, technology operation, myopia management, surgical co-management, and ocular disease management. 

Dr. Miranda enjoys seeing patients for their annual comprehensive eye exam, learning about their lives and jobs, and teaching them about their eyes. It bring her joy to be able to help people see better with contact lenses or glasses that make hobbies, work, and school easier. She particularly loves prebyopic multifocal contact lens fits, not just for the challenge, but also because of the priceless look of patient faces when they realize they can see distance and near again with minimal glasses use. She also enjoys myopia management and wishes her parents knew about it when she was younger so she did not have to endure wearing thick heavy glasses growing up. 

When she is not caring for patient's eyes, you will find her chasing after her toddler and pre-schooler, watching tv with her husband, attempting to stay healthy with a workout class, or baking anything with chocolate. One day she hopes to get back into scuba diving and trying new foods in new countries.
